Today I received an email from Mozilla telling me to use Automatic Updates. I Will no longer do that. Because Microsoft sneaked Windows 10 back onto my computer!! I got it last August, waited too long to remove it (30 day window) & had to PAY $ to have it removed. Microsoft person in Indoa/Phillippines/whrever said it would cost $150.00 I took the computer to a local repair shop & paid THEM $125.00 Mozilla used to think for the people. You now seem to be talking corporate club. Have you abandon the little people? Who rewrote the script & made Bill Gate God?? What gives them the right to muscle in & put their product on my personal computer ??? I paid good $ for the computer & the programs on it. I do not want the camel's nose under my tent. I do not want all my junk on a cloud. I do not want MS to have any more control of me & my machine than they currently have.

tell me again why I should have automatic updates.

Hi

Mozilla does not make, or was responsible for your update to, Windows 10. For feedback about that, you are better off getting in touch with Microsoft.

In respect of the Firefox web browser that you have made the choice to install on your computer, we do not force you to update, but we do strongly recommend it to make sure that you have important stability and security fixes, as well as to make you aware of new features you may find useful.

So you do not want to have new versions of Firefox because you had some bad experience with Microsoft and Windows 10.

Firefox updates are for new features and security fixes. It has nothing to do with Windows updates or Windows 10 trying to install depending on how you set things.

Oh Dear, Please Don't read into what I wrote .. I LOVE Mozilla & Firefox & Thunderbird, But with Microsoft up to their sneaky tricks (read the latest from Consumer Reports) I am feeling very threatened. I am NOT a computer person. I am on a limited budget. Having to spend it to clean off junk that gets into my computer when it's not something I consciously did Really frosts my cookies. But for now, blanket downloads won't happen on my computer. I will carefully scrutinize where the download comes from. I fully expect to see lawsuits if half of what I have read on the computer in the past 24 hours are valid claims. People who use their computers for their business just shouldn't lose their stuff, & more, because of an unexpected, unwanted download by the Microsoft company. I think they crossed over a moral line. That they will have access to all of our data stored in their cloud (& I have no clue about that either) & what we have on our computers, giving them the opportunity to sell our information just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. SO having growled some more, just please don't encourage blanket downloads. We can check our computers & manually download stuff, but I really, really want to avoid getting X again. It drove me nuts. I'm too old to keep making changes. I have a hard time remembering why I went upstairs for something let alone learning all over again new twists & turns of 'X'. Bless you all anyhow, I really believe in Mozilla & I just am embarrassed that my computer capabilities are so dismal. Hang on, I think the storm is going to increase.
