I click on a particular bookmark and it goes to "downloads" rather than appearing as all the others do. Windows 10 64 bit. It also removes the bookmarks sidebar from the main screen. Might also add that when I access the link directly, i.e. using the address bar, the same thing happens.

Chosen solution

To open the Bookmarks Manager, press the Alt or F10 key bring up the tool bar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.

Use the search bar at the top of the page. Find that bookmark and click it once. At the bottom of the window is the data for that bookmark. What does the Location box say?

It is possible that you have bookmarked a web page that triggers a download.

The location gives the location of the file, which is known to me anyway. The curious thing is that I have been clicking on the particular bookmark almost daily for several years and the image has always come up, as well as going to the download folder. Now the image does not come up until I go to the download folder and get it. Thank you for your interest.
