Well I guess the subject says it. I have the newest Firefox. This is something new that just started happening? I am alone here with my pc's but still I'm not comfortable with it! Someone somewhere said try about:logins but is always says it's NOT A VALID ADDRESS. But that might not be the place to fix it. Where can I fix this? Look on the attachment, at the bottom of the pages icons and you'll see where I've indicated where the ID's and passwords are showing. Thanks! jack ":-Dx

jscher2000 - I think I know what you are getting at. And it makes me to wonder. I have in my Bookmarks added the ID and password to the name of the bookmark. But I have done that for years! And it's only been recently that they have started appearing on the title of the webpage. You can see in the image now attached. I had to pull it down at first quickly you might have missed it. I inadvertently left one with the ID and Password to a bank no less. I quickly changed my password, smudged them out like the rest and the image is back up. But as I stated the ID and password have been used by me in the title of the bookmark for ages. I would have thought by now I'd recognized them, but it's only been of late I noticed them showing with the title. I'll will further read your message and check more. I will also trying removing and ID and PASS from a bookmark and see if they go away.

When you say "at the bottom" and HERE you mean where the title of the web page normally appears? That. Is. Not. Normal.

Does the same information appear in history for those sites? You can use Ctrl+Shift+h to call up the Library dialog and use the search box at the upper right to find, for example, Artisan, and see whether the login is in the page title there.

Do you use any features of Firefox or add-ons to log in automatically?

Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any difference?

jscher2000 - well I guess I am the culprit. I cannot believe that for 2 years or more I've never noticed that there were ID's and Passwords at the bottom of each page icon. How could I have missed that so often. Here's what I found. I deleted on the of bank page icons. In fact the one I just had to change the password. I then added it back in and now showing again on a new tab it's showing the new password. So ... there you go? I'd an action of mine not something of FIrefox. I am still shaking my head how I could have missed that all these years, I mean years not months. So I now have to choose to not have the passwords displayed in the bookmark. That's okay. I just have to make sure Firefox is saving them for reference if needed. Thanks for you time.

Hmm, I didn't realize the tile would show the bookmark name instead of the actual page title. Maybe that did change at some point. I couldn't find a reference to it in the Firefox 44 update list, but there are hundreds of changes in each version, so it's easy to miss a detail here or there.
