Thanks but did not solve problem. Yes I can right click and open in new tab that way but it is irritating to always have to do that. I'm in college and have some online classes so i often have several web pages open at once switching back and forth. thanks for the suggestion though.

Have you tried to right click?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Doesn't a middle-click with the mouse scroll wheel work?

What about Safe Mode?
