Why will Adobe flash player 20.0 r0 not work with Firefox? No problem on other browsers.

I get the message: Adobe flash player 20.0.r0 has stopped working. And removing it and reloading does not work. Trying every solution on the Mozilla help site does not work. I went to Chrome because of this and other issues, but Chrome will stop supporting the Vista OS.

I prefer Firefox over any other browser.

If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
