Firefox keeps installing itself on my computer

more options

Hi,

I use Google Chrome (Sorry!), so don't need Firefox, however recently it keeps appearing on my machine. I uninstall it, restart my computer, and it is there again, like I never uninstalled it.

I know you most probably won't be able to help me, but the support pages here were my last option, as Google couldn't tell me anything. It's annoying me so much that I can't overcome this issue.

Chosen solution

That's very hard to explain! After uninstalling, instead of immediately restarting Windows, could you remove these folders -- assuming there's no Firefox data you need for any reason. Note: if you use Mozilla Thunderbird, pause in case Thunderbird files might be affected.

Type or paste these into the Windows search box and press Enter to load them:

C:\Program Files (x86)\

Delete the folder: Mozilla Firefox

%APPDATA%

Delete the folder: Mozilla

%LOCALAPPDATA%

Delete the folder: Mozilla

This seems to have worked (for now). If I click "Solved the problem", will I be able to open the question up again in the future if it comes back for whatever reason?

If you click Solved, the thread usually remains unlocked for about six months, unless it goes so far off course that a moderator feels the need to lock it.

Thank you so much - If you don't hear from me again, you'll know it's sorted :)
