Setting up outgoing server settings with Wide Open West
Wide Open West is changing the out going server settings. I have spoken to WOW support and according to them I have all of the settings correct. Server Name: smtpauth.mail.wowway.com Port: 587 Connection security: STARTTLS Authentication method: Normal password User Name: 'my wow user name'
When trying to send a message I receive the following error message: Sending of he message failed. The message could not be sent using Outgoing server (SMTP) smtpauth.mail.wowway.com for an unknown reason. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.
Then a window opens with the title Add Security Exception asking me to add a certificate for the site. When I click the Get Certificate button the Confirm Security Exception button is grayed out and my only option is to Cancel.
Has anyone run into this issue and have a solution? WoW is changing their servers on Dec 15th and my old settings (which worked just fine) will no longer be valid. WoW customer support was useless and told me to contact Thunderbird.
Chosen solution
After some further playing around I found out that instead of clicking on the Get Certificate button I could ignore that and just click on the Confirm Security Exception button and everything worked.

You're certainly not being asked to add a certificate.
