I did a Firefox tuneup, where is my profile stored before the tuneup?

I tried doing a Firefox tuneup because I was having problems with freeze-ups and crashes. After the process was complete I was asked to choose a profile before restarting Firefox. Since the choices were a list of numbers I had no Idea which was my current profile. I obviously chose the wrong one because all my bookmarks , history, etc. is not there so I am assuming it must have been in one of the other profile choices. How do I get to the spot where I can choose a different profile to open.

Chosen solution

You can change the default Firefox profile by using the Firefox Profile Manager. Try the different profiles on your system to see which one if the profile that you desire. You can then tell the profile manager to use that profile by default.

For more information on using the profile manager, please refer to this Mozilla support article:

Note: The profile manager can be used to delete Firefox profiles. However, I do not recommend that you delete any profiles before locating your desired profile, as you may accidentally delete the working profile.

These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backups of files that you choose.
