This afternoon, a message from ZDNet said that Mozilla Firefox don't support MS Silverlight anymore....
I'm pretty sure that is wrong. Where did you see that?
The plugin checker had an error in recent days where it wants everyone to update to the new version, but that version is only for Mac. If Microsoft says you have the latest when you visit the following page, then you have the latest:
https://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/get-started/install/default.aspx

Hi
Looking on Wikipedia, the latest stable version of Microsoft Silverlight is 5.1.40728.0 which was released on 11th August 2015.
I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we will see what we can do to help.
Hi Seburo,
MS Silverlight 5.1.40728.0 was released on 12th August 2015 through my config.screen. The message "update now" with Firefox - Add ons - Control of plug ins are up to date ??? keeps hold attention with Firefox.
I don't know if this version is the latest version, and so yes, why I keep receiving this item that I have to update now ?????
Thanks for feedback.
Greetings, Freddy Van De Velde
Hi
I have had a look at the system details that you have supplied and can confirm that you are int he latest version. The Firefox Plugin Check may need to be updated, but I think I have seen that someone is already working on that.
I hope this puts your mind at rest, but if not, please come back here and we can look into a different solution for you.
Seburo,
This afternoon, a message from ZDNet said that Mozilla Firefox don't support MS Silverlight anymore.... They are not in the need to eliminate the message on their Add on - Plug ins that you haven't the possibility to have a new version so in the futur ?
Sad,sad, to keep reading on your pc that MS Silverlight is now your latest and also last version ? I should dissappear this item with plug ins !!!

Why the item "update now" MS Silverlight is keeping on to do this by using your pc. Is Mozilla Firefox not being capable to remove this from the plug ins to control ????

Hi Freddy, where are you seeing that message that you need to update?
- Is it on a web page loading in a tab? If so:
- What is the address of the page?
- When does it load, for example:
- Every time you start Firefox?
- Any new window or clicking the Home button?
- Is it a popup notification? If so:
- Does it seem to come from a particular web page?
- Is it a "desktop" notification that appears outside of Firefox down near the system clock on the Taskbar?
Enclose, I send you a printscreen from that message.
Greetings, Freddy
Hi Freddy, yes, unfortunately that page is not distinguishing between Windows, Mac, and Linux and until it is updated platform-specific version information, it will continue to wrongly suggest looking for an update that is only available for Mac users.
If that page is opening automatically, maybe it has become part of your collection of home pages? You can edit your home page setting on the Options page. See: Startup, home page, tabs, and download settings.
Especially look for any vertical bar characters (|) that separate addresses. It can be hard to see, but for example:
https://www.example.com/|https://www.mozilla.org/

Hi Mwirick,
Please open the Silverlight site with IE. If it crashes in IE too, please uninstall and re-install it with following guidance. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2608523
If it works fine in IE, please check the settings in Firefox as below.
Resetting Internet Privacy Settings: Add the Silverlight site (such as "https:/netflix.com") into Internet Privacy Settings. Rename this file MSPR.HDS from folder: Open your computer and reach to the following source- C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady. Once you are inside this directory, right-click the MSPR.HDS file and select Rename option. Now, assign a new name to the file as MSPR_Backup.HDS. Disable and Re-enable Silverlight. Turn off Hardware Acceleration: Open your Firefox and dive right into the advance tab. Under browsing head, uncheck the checkbox named Use Hardware Acceleration when available and you’re done. Registry Woes: Most of the Silverlight settings are saved in the registry, which is the database containing data stored by application software and your operating system. This registry can probably get corrupted. Scanning and deleting the wrong registry settings can solve the issue. Start Tablet PC input Service: Open the run command under the start menu option and type SERVICES.MSC. Find out the status of the Table PC Input Service and turn it on.

I found through experience since XP days that removing program registries is the major problem for reinstalling updated programs. Personally, I use RevoUninstaller then CCleaner then search in registry under Software in HKCU, HKLM, HKU. I let CCleaner look for in HKClasses. But the above instruction for removing precise program will do. I hope this helps.
I made the change in the plugin check page, thank you for bringing this to attention Seburo, jscher and BabyMocha
Please do feel free to post stuff like this in the plugin check page forum as well here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/plug-check-page-discussions/
Looks like someone is on it :-)
