How do I DELETE Pocket ENTIRELY without a Master's Degree in Computer Science??

Thanks to Pocket being on my PC, I'm stuck with emails from the provider even after contacting same directly and being assured that my email address would be deleted. With reliability like that, I want to delete Pocket even MORE and not just from the toolbar. This feature SHOULD have been an option, not something we got stuck with.

Hi, you can remove Pocket by: Right click on the Pocket button in the toolbar > Remove from Toolbar - that will remove it from bookmarks and the toolbar, but it will still be in the menu. To also remove it from there, you then need to type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to browser.pocket.enabled and double click to change 'Value' from True to False, taking care not to alter anything else. Then restart Firefox.

If you move the pocket button to the Customize palette then this should remove the button form the toolbar and remove the pocket items in the bookmarks menu.

Note that this only works if browser.pocket.enabled = true When you have moved the Pocket button to the Customize palette and the pocket items in the Bookmarks Menu are hidden then you can disable Pocket and possibly modify these prefs and close and restart Firefox.

  • browser.pocket.enabled = false
  • browser.pocket.api (clear value)
  • browser.pocket.site (clear value)
