How can I stop pages from loading in new tab or window?

When clicking on a link, the only options I have are to open a new window or new tab. I want to be able to navigate using one tab only. Am I just missing the page in settings where this is found?

For links opened via JavaScript you can look at this pref:

The setting in "Options/Preferences > General > Tabs" only applies to links that specify a target window.
