What is about:home?
Sorry about such a simple question but what exactly does about:home do? I've tried googling but the numerous hits all seem to be about technical details or problems with it. Nowhere have I managed to find a simple explanation of what it does and whether it might be useful to me. Do you have such a link?

hi tom999, about:home is the internal address of the default homepage that is built-into firefox: Firefox's default home page has quick links to common features
You can find a list of all available about protocol pages on the about:about page.
about:home has been the default Homepage ever since the Firefox 4.0 (four.zero) Release. You can change it to another url or leave it blank for no homepage.
