(I wrote a long thing about this and was told "access denied" when I hit post question, will try again. Sorry if you already got one.)

Some videos have no audio, specifically when played in Firefox. From what I gather, it is HTML5 videos specifically. Other browsers play them just fine, but I would prefer for this one to work. Switching to 2.0 audio allows them to play with sound, but I have a 5.1 setup and am not really willing to switch it back and forth for much longer.

There was some Reddit poster that had the same problem with Chrome at some point. The videos he linked have the same outcome on my machine, but in his case the problem was solved switching from 2.0 to 5.1... (Shrug.)

The whole post: https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome/comments/27ho7u/some_youtube_videos_have_no_sound/

They thought the problem was with their onboard audio, but I'm not so sure. (This is a Sound Blaster ZxR, if it matters.) Maybe in their case it was, but here I have three other browsers that play these videos without issue. Why would my sound card cause a problem with only one browser?

I would like to get this one working so I don't need to use different browsers for different things.

Hi there, first things first -- wanted to check you simply didnt have the volume turned off (but sure that's not the case!) :)

We also have an article here about Firefox not playing sound: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/No+sound+in+Firefox

Let me know if that helps, and please come back if not.

No, I didn't turn it down. I can manipulate the volume and mute controls in the videos that have no sound while they are playing, but no sound. Click on another video and it'll have sound.

I did see that article before posting, but thanks. It's not all sound from Firefox, just some of the videos.
