PDF corrupted when attached to email

When I attach a PDF to an email message, the PDF is corrupted when the receiver of the email tries to open it. This occurs regardless of which browser the email receiver uses (IE, Chrome, Firefox,etc). I think Firefox is corrupting the PDF when it is attached to the email. How do I fix this? I'm using Firefox version 39 and Windows 7. Thanks.

Did you try to send the email to yourself and compare the attachment with the original to see what gets changed?
