Firerfox resizes when closing a tab

I can be on Firefox with multiple tabs open. then some of the time (not all the time) when I close a tab Firefox will Restore Down (resize) on it's own. I have to then click Maximize to get the full page again. it has only been doing this for the past few days but it's annoying.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
