I am not able to clear the cached History in Firefox. When I click on Clear History I get a message that it has been disabled. How do I get it to allow me to clear my cache again?

Chosen solution

When Firefox was updated, I had an option to restore it to factory settings. I took this option and when it asked if I wanted the IE Tab plugin installed again I said no. Now I have no problems clearing my cache any more. I wish there was some way to remove Plugins that get added but don't work properly.

Hello marianna.eros, do you have the same behavior in firefox safe mode ? if the problem is the Disable Private Browsing Plus 1.9 extension you have.

There are two types of Add-ons. There are the Add-ons that you find and install. And there are also Plugins. These are from other programs that are on your system when Firefox starts. Like video players, anti-virus, and many more.

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac:<Command>)<Shift> A)

On the left side of the page, select Plugins. From here, you can disable what you don't want.

Thank you, I had found this page before when I had the IE tabs add-on/plugin installed, but it did not have anything indicating how to disable it. The IE Tabs was an add-on that was installed and there were 2 versions that did not explain what the difference was. The Add on worked for what I needed, but prevented me from clearing my cache when I needed to. Should not have to uninstall or disable anything in order to clear the cache. At Least I don't think that a daily routine should have to be so difficult. Your information was helpful. Thank you.
