Why have Firefox Preferences disappeared from the Firefox menu?

Under the Firefox menu there is only "Quit" where there used to be "Preferences" among other options. What happened to the "Preferences" option? Why has that disappeared?

You should still have Firefox > Preferences.

You should also see this item in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list.

You can also open about:preferences via the location/address bar.
