I want to install the App "MyChart" on Win 8 comp. & Win support indicates it is available for FF, IE etc. but FF add-ons say it cannot be found?

Why does FF say it is not available when it apparently is?

It looks like you use the website directly in the browser instead of using a separate app. I think the separate apps are for mobile devices. However, I didn't really dig into it in detail.

Sorry, the name "MyChart" seems to have a lot of different Google results on many different sites. Which is the one that you are trying to install?

Some companies do not submit their add-ons to Mozilla to include in the Add-ons site and instead offer them directly from their websites. When you click a link to install an extension from a website, you normally get a small panel dropping down from the address bar to give the site permission to install software. That's normal if you initiated the download, but otherwise, it would be suspicious.

The MyChart I wanted to download is an app used by many health providers in Madison, WI that allows patients and medical personnel to communicate on a variety of health concerns at https://uwhealthmychart.org
