Why does Firefox keep resetting my homepage to Google? I DO NOT LIKE HAVING TO RESET THIS EVERY TIME I PULL UP FIREFOX
I do not want Google as my home page, nor do I use it as my default search engine. WHY IS IT that Firefox is constantly resetting my homepage to Google? I no longer trust Google, thus I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE IT AS MY HOME PAGE. It is really pissing me off to have to reset my homepage almost every time I open Firefox. Additionally, I have my anti-spyware set to block any attempt to change my home page, and I see the warning popping up almost every 20 minutes. This is NOT acceptable, and is beginning to make me question YOUR trustworthiness if you put things in your service which undermine what the user very clearly and purposefully wants.
I've been a Mozilla user for something like 18 years. This latest update is the FIRST TIME I've felt like your service is less than above board. Fix it, or I'll find something else. I will not use a product which disregards my intended manner of use. I'm only giving you the lea way to fix this because you've (at least appeared) trustworthy up to this point. My patience is not long in this regard.
Chosen solution
I'm sorry you are having this trouble. I can assure you that we want you to be using the homepage of your choice, and w are not even partnered with google anymore, for this isn't something Mozilla is doing on purpose (we will always respect your user choice)
I'd try the following:
- Sometimes this can be caused by a corrupted Firefox profile. Try the steps at How to fix preferences that won't save and let me know if that works.
- If that fails, try a Firefox Refresh, Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
- Finally this can be caused by malware. Try scanning for malware with the scanners at Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware

Open your Add-ons Manager and remove Google anything.
Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac:<Command>)<Shift> A)
In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions.
Now do the same in the computers Programs Folder.
Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.
