Why can I not see a particular cottage on HomeAway in regular mode but I can from a private window?

I found a cottage on HomeAway last year and stayed there. Then suddenly I could no longer find it from my computer, it was as if it didn't exist on the site. But others can see it from their computers, and I can see it if I open a private window. I have no problem searching for other properties. I wondered if I had inadvertently blocked that particular one but can't find anything. I wondered if the owner had inadvertently blocked me but she didn't know how to check. Any ideas? Thanks.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

I still don't really know the cause of the problem but what I did was search through my browser history to the address before I had the problem (sometimes it pays not to clear history!) and I opened the site from there. Now it does show when I open HomeAway. But if I search for the actual name of the cottage, HomeAway doesn't show it, but if I search for cottages in that area it is listed. I have given up trying to find the problem as I now have a work-around. Thanks for the suggestions.
