How to remove Firefox orange button on top left of screen, it is a serious hindrance to my impulsive reflex to hit "File" on top left of screen. This is throwing me off big time, also it is another source of frustration{Basic navigation features missing from these newer version would be the first but temporary fixed via "extension" until the next version makes it no longer work}[Don't call it a plugin or the Correction-Nazi's will flood this thread out!]

So, How do you remove that huge blazing orange block with the label on the top left of the screen?

I tried to ask this question in another thread, but apparently working away from home for over a month is a both unthinkable and a sign of relenting. That thread is now "archived" and there-for, locked. So I must make a new thread to ask this again.

Alot of text for a simple problem, but as I have learned since updating from .28 or whatever, nothing with Mozilla is simple. Especially navigation and functionality. I still cannot wrap my brain around the fact they butchered this program so much in such short time. If java and SWF plugins kept working on the old, I would have NEVER updated!

The community is far too complacent on these MAJOR issues.

Chosen solution

I think I fixed it by changing theme from default to some ugly thing, then back to default... Orange box GONE!

Thanks for your time and patience.

Firefox 35 the current version does not have the orange Firefox button top left. Instead it has a three bar icon button top right.

You have not listed your extensions but I suspect you may have used extensions and themes so it looks more like older versions.

Whilst we will try to help you with problems we are not able to discuss development decisions and policies. We are only fellow Firefox users, not developers.

You can toggle the title bar on/off via the "Title Bar" button at the bottom left in the Customize palette window.

  • "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize
  • View > Toolbars > Customize

I am using 35.0.1, and I have a orange firefox box on the top left of my screen.
