Firefox stuck in task manager. Can not be terminated.
Win 8.1 on lenovo yoga 2 pro. When launching Firefox 35 no window appears. Process shows up in task manager but cant be terminted there. Erasing program directory didnt help. Reinstall didnt help. Deaktivation and deinstall of firefall didnt help. Running antivirus Sophos verison 10. Deinstalled various drivers and programms that I had added lately, to no effect. Can not pinpoint to specific action that started this issue. Do not have recent backup to revert to.
Can not go into safe mode since window of firefox wont display. Found a related post mentioning Lenovo fingre print authentic driver, yet I do not have this driver installed.
Checked system with malewarebytes anti-malware. All infections removed.

Added: Firefox portable is experiencing same issues.
Running Comodo dragon now which is working just fine.
Would like to have me old browser back though.
This is not a cure but will make it easier if Firefox locks up in Windows. https://support.mozilla.org/questions/997866 {web link}
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift (Mac Options) > key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites.
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
