I am unable to change the icons for my desktop shortcuts after installing firefox on my windows 7 machine.
All of the Desktop Shortcuts under properties show nothing about being able to change the icon. General-Security-Details-previous version are the only tabs available

Right click one of the shortcuts. Select Properties. What does the Opens With say.
the shortcut is to a particular website so there is no option for open with. I was able to change the Icons when I was using ie11 on this computer. Once I search a web site and save it to my bookmarks and create a desktop shortcut then their is no icon and this is what i want to change.
Was it created with Firefox, or Win IE?
If Win, then the problem is there.
it was created with Firefox and the icon is blank with a name for it. Properties will not show change icon like it did with IE11.
Try this; Locate the Firefox program shortcut, or open your file browser and go to the Firefox program folder. Right click > Properties > Shortcut > change icon. Change it. Then press Apply. Did this work?

The above suggestion did not work as well. However I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it and I am now able to change any of the Icon pictures. It is working as supposed to, so you can consider this as Solved.
