I have been using ff21 for a long time because when I logged onto ff30, nothing worked in a manner that I could understand. After a lot of questions and searching for ways to make it work for me, I gave up and reverted to ff21. I would have used a higher version, but 21 was the highest that I had saved.

A few days ago, I reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate and began the labor intensive acquiring of my programs and desktop icons/folders while at the same time, doing those internet things that required rather immediate attention.

Today I discovered that I have no searchbar or ff33. Can't find it! I would appreciate it to the max if there were an answer for this quandary and I thank you in advance for any help you can provide

It is possible that you have right-clicked the search bar and selected the "Remove from ...". "Remove from ..." moves the selected item to the Customize palette. "Move to Menu" or "Move to Toolbar" moves an item to or from the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list.

I personally keep the search bar in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list to see more of the URL in the location/address bar. Note that the Ctrl+K shortcut will open the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list with focus on the search bar if you place the search bar in that area.

Make sure that toolbars like the Bookmarks Toolbar are visible.

  • "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize > Show/Hide Toolbars
  • View > Toolbars
Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar
  • Right-click empty toolbar area

Open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.

  • "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize
  • check that "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • if "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the Customize palette into the Customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • if missing items are in the Customize palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
  • if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the Customize palette then click the Restore Defaults button to restore the default toolbar setup

Corel,

Thank you so much for the list of suggestions to follow. Some of them I'd already instituted such as the Bookmarks toolbar and a few more.

To be honest I'm not sure exactly what I did or if I did anything, but I found the searchbar in the Customize menu though I had looked that over several times before even contacting Support. Bad eyesight maybe?

Now, in Customize, there being no navigation bar shown after which to place the "searchbar", the only thing that I found I was even able to do was to place the 'searchbar' next to the Firefox button but have not found a way to get it into its proper location.

At this point I have to say that I am happy just to have it on the toolbar somewhere and hope that it being in another location than usual will not interfere with it normal function. Gotta tell, "ya don't know what you got til it's gone."

What do you think. Is there more I can do or should I be happy it's there at all.
