Blip.tv videos not appearing at all in Firefox 28

This just started to be a problem for reasons unknown, but Blip.tv's video player just doesn't load any more in Firefox 28. You might be asking "Why are you using 28? That's probably the issue." I do not wish to upgrade to a Chrome clone. I'm sorry. I know there are addons like the Classic look one but I shouldn't have to get addons to keep the look that makes sense.

Anyway, just recently blip's video player just refuses to work and I haven't the faintest idea why. When tested in chrome there are no issues at all. When I say it refuses to work, I mean nothing but a black square is there. Flash never loads the player. It's really weird. I've tried safe mode which changed nothing and even tried a brand new profile which also changed nothing. Any recommendations on what to do besides update?

Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the Plugin Check site.

Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions. If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow Update button or a red Update now button, please update these immediately.

To do so, please click each yellow or red button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.

What can I say, but that I have no problems watching video on Blip.tv In Firefox 33.0.2.

I was also reticent about Australis as well and stuck with Firefox ESR for a while but as as I do some web design I had to have the latest version in order to ensure my sites worked, so I took the plunge.

The main problem with sticking with Firefox 28 is that it will get progressively more insecure and will progressively be less likely to work as web technologies advance (especially web video).

And yes, I do have the Classic Them Restorer installed. It's not just a rollback for the UI; CTR also adds more UI options than were available in previous versions, letting you pick and choose the elements from both.

We (users) are not able to add these capabilities to earlier version of Firefox. The web is not static and neither is browser technology. There's nothing to stop you using an older version, but <sermon> unpatched browsers are targets for malware that can seriously damage your system or lead to data loss etc.</sermon>

So while I understand your frustration, the ball is in your court. Good luck.

Does it even add the bottom bar that used to be around? I have that as I prefer to have addon buttons over there instead of the top (with a few exceptions). I do plan on updating when Firefox gets MSE to play Youtube at 60 fps. But alright, as long as that's true.

Yes, it brings the addon back by default.
