[waterfox] Using default profile. No reset button in Troubleshooting info page.

SIDE QUESTION:

Would having a thousand bookmarks affect firefox performance?

Would an addon prevent the reset button from appearing? (tried disabling(the blocking, not the addon) the most likely culprit, adblock edge, nothing) safe mode seems to "disable" the troubleshooting page for some reason so couldn't really use that to test it.

I would have posted these at the bottom but i noticed secondary questions tend to get ignored. or at least the way i say them gets them ignored, so here they are.

As the title says.

I'm using only one profile and it's the default(not just its name, it's also set as default according to the profile.ini ).

according to

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Troubleshooting_Information_page#Reset_Firefox_to_its_default_state

The only factor the would prevent it from appearing is if I'm not using the default profile, which Is what I am currently using, and it's the only profile I have.

So... what could be preventing it from appearing?

I'm not on Windows and I'm also not familiar about what feature Waterfox supports and what has been removed, so you may be better of to contact Waterfox for support about issues with the program.

You can of course always use the Profile Manager and create a new profile yourself if that is your only intention and copy files manually to the new profile folder.

Use the Profile Manager to start Firefox with your current (default) profile. That should work unless your Waterfox version doesn't support a reset.

You can also try to start Waterfox in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift key when starting.

I actually used profile manager to start with default before asking this question and still did not get a reset button. I forgot to mention that.

for some reason safe mode via shift has the troubleshooting information page. but still no button.

And what do you mean about the version not supporting a reset? it's a recent version(32.0.3), unless firefox also doesn't have it in the same version for some reason.

that... doesn't actually answer the question... but you have a point. I guess that'll do as a solution. I'll mark this as resolved as soon as I try it out. Thanks.

though i'd like to report this missing button thing to the waterfox guys, i'm kinda reluctant to sign up to a forum(overclock.net as their website says) i'd use like, once-- and never look back into again, which is why I asked here. I don't remember where, but I heard Waterfox is the "de facto" 64 bit firefox.

unless i'm misunderstanding it as "official" and Nightly instead, is the "official" build with here as it's main support area?

EDIT: OK. it worked. also, the button STILL doesn't appear. not that i'm pushing that issue at this point.

So one final question before closing this: would lots of bookmarks impact firefox performance in any way? or is it addons alone that will slow firefox? I don't want to "reset" often(not that it's hard to do, just can't imagine anyone wanting to reset their browser every month or so regardless of method.)

Waterfox is a unofficial third-party project as you can take the source and build it yourself.

The Nightly (mainly for testers and devs) is one of four main development channels besides Release, Beta (b#) and Aurora (a2). The Win64 Nightly builds are not supported with the same priority in server and build maintenance as Win32, Mac OSX 32/64-bit combined and the 32-bit/64-bit Linux builds are. It may not be until Firefox 37.0 that there will be a Win64 Firefox Release.
