Why does your website keep sending me in circles?

more options

When you try to contact support, it sends you one place and then it sends you to another, then shazam, you are back where you started. How ( and more important, why) does it do that?

My real question is - when I delete a message off of my email server's site, why does it delete it from Mozilla also? I only want it taken off of the server - is there a fix?

Thank you and have a good day,

Kurt

That is how IMAP email works.

IMAP email is server based. You just manage the messages with the email client on your computer but they are on the server. You can make folders under Local Folders and move a copy of the message there before deleting them from the server if you want to keep a local copy or you can go back to using POP email.

What is your account type - POP or IMAP?

I am pretty sure it is POP ( my account on the server)

Don't guess. Open your account settings and give the correct answer if you want an accurate answer.

After nearly 20 years using a POP server, I now find out I'm on an IMAP server. My apologies for not checking.

I think that answers your question.

That's okay. I guess you are still in that circle the website put you in. :)

You think wrong-there was two question in my OP. The first was rather rhetorical, moving on to the second paragraph you will see - My real question is - when I delete a message off of my email server's site, why does it delete it from Mozilla also? I only want it taken off of the server - is there a fix?
