I have a few websites which have similar address, some with .co.uk other with .com The auto complete of the website address can make it impossible to get to the correct one. This should never ever happen or not more than one try, needs an obvious way to turn off. Seems to have been in last few Firefox now on 32.0.2.

You can try to toggle these prefs to false on the about:config page.

  • browser.urlbar.autoFill
  • browser.urlbar.autoFill.typed

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Just now trying to log into router with IP address and it immediately jumps to http://www.routerlogin.com/welcome.htm and server not found.
