Firefox is running at just under 1Gb of storage. Is this normal?
What is taking up the resources?
Chosen solution
There are many factors that can impact RAM usage. Time Firefox is up, the add-ons you have installed, age of your computer, malware, if you have all Windows updates and graphics driver updates installed, if you're using the latest plugins, etc. If it isn't causing performance issues (ie. If firefox is still running fine while using 1GB of RAM) then it isn't really a big deal (The more RAM firefox can use the better it will perform, so long as there is left over RAM for the rest of the computer).
You can try a few things to try and reduce the RAM usage:
- Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
- Update Windows (do it multiple times if necessary)
- Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL
- Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware
- https://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/
- Type about:memory into your address bar, press Enter, then "Minimize Memory Usage"
- Do basic computer maintenance (Disk DeFragment, Dick Check, etc.) to improve general computer performance.

What options?
Are you meaning RAM or hard drive storage?
Is this causing performance problems? If it's RAM, Firefox will use what it needs, so long as there are no performance issues it shouldn't be a concern.
i'm just new
ssj3tails, please start your own thread if you are having a problem with Firefox. thanks.
I did mean RAM. It seems excessive with little running. Yahoo google mail and pandora.
