Hi,

I upgraded my Firefox at work on the laptop. After the upgrade to 31 when I logged into GMail all the useful bits to navigate Google were gone ! My linked +Richard is now a non linked richxxxx@gmail.com and grayed out. The little navigation box (the one that's made up of 9 dots) is missing, my bell telling me how many new posts are on Google+ is also missing. I thought after a reboot it would straighten out but nope.

So I refuse to upgrade to 31 here at home. I'm not loosing that functionality. I reported this issue via the support area and haven't heard back from anyone yet.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I mean can an upgrade removed functions like that? Makes no sense at all too me!

Thanks

Richard

Works fine in regular and private window. I attached a picture. Clearing the cache may clear a corrupt script that is not loading the interface correctly.

Please try a new profile if clearing the cache does not help the issue, in the meantime we are happy to help.

Hi Richard, I understand after the update on another computer that your Google navigations are no longer visible. Some add ons or toolbars are removed if they are not compatible with the next version of Firefox. It is possible to check on the addon.mozilla.org page for the add on that gave you this functionality.

Was this a toolbar that was installed to customize Firefox? If so, please try to Re-enable add-ons that were disabled when updating Firefox

Let's find that add on.

Hi,

This is not an add-on for FF. This is functionality that's built into GMail, every GMail account has this! See the image I've uploaded. This is my GMail here on my home computer and I've opted NOT to upgrade my FF for fear of loosing this functionality at home as well. I will not loose this and if this on the FF teams shoulders then they need to fix this. I have this functionality in IE and Chrome as well so no it's not an Add on!

Thanks

Richard

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

None of that will work. Again this is built in solidly to the GMail interface. It works fine in IE, it works fine in Chrome but with this last update to FF it is totally MIA! All I can see to do now is to uninstall Firefox and start from scratch to see if that will fix it. What ever the coders did in FF screwed this up. My opinion! If FF is trying to alienate end users this will be the way to go for sure. Because if this isn't fixed or resolved I will move over to Chrome and will NOT look back this time.

The culprit was GMaileus or how ever you spell that. Not installing that add on again. Sorry for the hassle.
