Hello. My name is Chris Bottle and I live in Australia. In the last couple of days I've discovered that I'm unable to send emails. I've checked my IMAP settings are they are all correct. My email provider is Telstra Australia. When I send an email I get a reply back "An error occured while sending email. Outgoing server SMTP error. The server responded; Connection refused - OB119 .103.224.52.151 is blacklisted in Abusix Mail Intelligence and then two lines of text prefixed by https;/lookup.abusix and further text. I checked with Telstra and after much checking they could find nothing their end. I'm not that computer literate and freely admit that this problem has bamboozled me. Having a problem with all emails that are supposed to be going to account1@gmail.com are being diverted to account2@gmail.com, then the emails are being transferred in a "Blocked" state to the intended email address - account1@gmail.com Very frustrating, as I've searched heaps of places (including the settings of both accounts - No Links) for over 6 weeks to no avail..... or am I missing something staring back at me

I would like to download a copy of all the emails of an email account, without removing them from the server, work with these copes of the original emails without synchronizing my actions (e.g. sorting and/or deleting local copies of emails), archive selected emails and then export them in PDF (preferably), TXT or JPEG format.

Can I do what I am describing above, with thunderbird desktop?

I am unable to find an answer (hours on the Internet) to this specific problem that has appeared out of nowhere:

Under File in the Menu Bar the "Email Link..." does not work anymore. If I want to send a thing I'm looking at to my Thunderbird email (and which I use Hover), most often is a You Tube video. But I do this for other things I start reading, but I don't have time for. This has worked for a very long time. It was always so easy. Now when I click on Email Link all I get is a blue circle-I think it rotates sometimes. It disappears in a second or less. I get nothing.

I do have Windows 11 and up-to-date Firefox. I am fairly sure it continued to work after I got a new computer Nov. 4th with W11 on it. I believe I lost this function within the last 6-8 weeks. Maybe with the new computer, but I don't think so. I'd appreciate it if someone might have a fix or idea about this. I admit my intelligence is not up to the task!

Hi,

My Firefox data (profiles, bookmarks, browsing history, etc) suddenly disappeared. I had a session going with multiple tabs open, and only noticed because Outlook kept opening links in a brand new session that was not linked to the one I already had open. When I closed out of firefox, my old session and all my data was gone. I followed all the recovery steps and am stumped. Where did my data go and is it possible to restore it?

I'm abandoning Windoze for Linux Mint Mate. The original Win11 Laptop is still available - no cloud connection, the Windows account exists but is unused. The laptop has all my Thunderbird v146.0.0 (64 bit) mail, address books, calendars.

I have a refurbished PC, came with new-install Win11. Now dual-booted as a Linux Mint 22.2, Mate desktop. The Win11 partition is unused and will stay that way for the foreseeable future.

I use gmail since TalkTalk finally terminated access to my Tiscali account. (I dropped TT many years ago.)

I've setup Thunderbird on Mint, can't see how to find its version. It came from the Mint default setups. Gmail is working but missing all the 'Local' stuff. The calendar has a few of my auto-repeat entries but none of the random ones. Some of my address books are missing.


I remember from the Win10 > Win11 migration that I need to move the 'profile'. It will be large but I have big-enough USB memory keys. And no, the machines are not network linked. I don't trust Microsoft and won't allow any of their corrupted stuff any access to my new kit.

Guidance needed:

  • What needs to be moved? From where on Win11?
  • Where to put the stuff on Mint. How to migrate it?
  • Any problems to watch out for?

Help please? Links to resources? Forum posts, online guides, wise words? Or 'just do it this way!'

When viewing email, either in preview or by double clicking from the list of emails, if the subject line is too long for one row, instead of either adding a row for display, or truncating the subject text, Tbird vertically centers the multi-line subject text, which cuts off the top and bottom of the lines. This makes it virtually unreadable. Is there a way to fix this?

I am using Thunderbird 140.6.0esr (64-bit) desktop on Windows 11. I have multiple email accounts setup, two of which are Yahoo accounts. On 12/21, one of the Yahoo accounts stopped delivering messages to Thunderbird from Yahoo while the other continues to download them. Thunderbird does logon to Yahoo for the account in question and gives me a message that there are no messages to download. When I logon to Yahoo mail through a browser, there is plenty of mail that has been received after 12/21 which should be downloading.

Both of the Yahoo accounts are setup exactly the same... POP Mail Server pop.mail.yahoo.com Port 995 SSL / TLS OAuth2

Outgoing server smtp.mail.yahoo.com Port 465 SSL / TLS OAuth2

I removed the password from Thunderbird for the account not delivering mail, re-entered it, restarted Thunderbird and got the same results. I changed the password (through yahoo mail), entered the new password into Thunderbird and got the same results. I also tried restarting Thunderbird again after entering the new password which made no difference.

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

emails over 5 days old are deleted: -Hi i had trouble with outlook so changed to thunderbird for two email accounts i have. both are IMAP. one account works fine , old emails are stored asa re deleted and sent, however for my main (business) email, if i turn the computer off, i basically loose anything older than 5 days. i have the settings set to do not delete, but it keeps happening. sent items are kept, as are deleted emails, so i cant understand what is going on. the account also clears the server so i cant bring them back from there either. any ideas? if it keeps like this i will have to go back to outlook.

Le message sera envoyé en utilisant l’adresse d’expédition actuelle avec les paramètres de l’identité Éric Fries Guggenheim <eric.friesguggenheim@orange.fr>. Si je les sauvegarde à ce moment-là ils se retrouvent dans la boîte brouillon de l’adresse principale.

I've used Thunderbird for over a decade with the same email address and log in info. My email address is [edited]@pacbell.net. I receive email regularly, but starting about 3 weeks ago, outgoing email actually gets sent only about 30% of the time I hit the send button, and the rest of the time I get the following message:

"Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) outbound.att.net failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

After I try several more times, I can usually get the email to go through.

What can be done to fix this?
