pac proxy not reloading automatically

Using pref.js or a pac file suggests that firefox will only load settings when it opens. I would like to manipulate settings from an external program,, and have firefox reload them every time network changes.

To have the reload button using prefbar is not feasible for me as i have to push the solution for around 10000 users in my corporate environment.

This is not something I understand. Although it appears Firefox is able to use pac files

You may still get someone answering. I waited a few hours to give anyone else a chance.

Are your Systems using ESR fx17 (it would normally be a good idea if they do {see http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/} ) if so this bug may be applicable Bug 769764 - remove synchronous proxy API and synchronous DNS resolution in nsProxyAutoConfig.js (from http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_hangs#Hang_loading_websites_when_using_an_automatic_proxy_configuration_file )
