Hello I am too am having problems getting Java to work with Firefore 14.01. I have UN-installed and re-installed 3-4 times.. I have un-installed and delete the Java folder. I have checked my FireFox make sure there is no java listed in plugins..

my Current firefox is update and shows Java(TM) platform SE 7 U5 10.5.06 installed.. I have check in console and check to make sure it shows and has Java check marks for Firefox and IE.. Both are..

using the About:plugins in firefox shows --- Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U5

   File: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\plugin2\npjp2.dll
   Version: 10.5.0.6
Next Generation Java Plug-in 10.5.0 for Mozilla browsers

and Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.50.6

   File: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\npDeployJava1.dll
   Version: 10.5.0.6
NPRuntime Script Plug-in Library for Java(TM) Deploy

When I got to Java home page and run the test with either Firefox or IE. They both fail to load and both come up with somekinda class error

Firefox when does the test keeps poping up with "Firefox prevented this page from automatically from loading " then does nothing.

If I reload and do the test again.. I does not show Java.. Show error, When click on error you get popup window they says

"Aplication error . ClassNotFoundException " Testjava2_1.TestVmApplet.class

pop up window shows Java Plug-in 10.5.0.06 Using JRE version 1.7.0_05-b06 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM User home directory = C:\Users\DragonChester

I have Tired everything, I have rebooted, uninstalled and re-installed, Del,, Nothing works. I hate new Firefox. Old 3.6+ worked just fine..

It's just me, seem not, Seems like other people are having problems too firefox and Flashplayer.. I also can not get that work with newest version. Only by downgrading to 10.3 have I got to work.. Do I have do same thing for Java? Downgrade? And Yes I have even disabled Adblock Plus too see if that was it.. no did not effect it and i have been using Adblock Plus for YEARS on old 3.6 and Java worked fine on it..

Do you have "Click to Play" enabled for plugins?

You can check the plugins.click_to_play pref on the about:config page.

It will popup with window inside the FF with " Click here to activate " but test from Java HP page still will not load up Java...

still pops up with the error window

"Aplication error . ClassNotFoundException " Testjava2_1.TestVmApplet.class "

Edit: That was after trying your suggestion.. It was set to false before

It shouldn't be enabled for now, so if you've set it to true then reset the plugins.click_to_play pref to false.
I should have made that more clearer.

You can also check this:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"

The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.
