I have tried Malwarebytes, MB Adware, SAS, FARBAR, Eliminate It and Windows Security and no luck. reinstalled Flash...it is still banging away on me 30 times a day. Blocked each time by MB, but getting annoying.

Go to the 3-bar menu (or 'Tools') => Add-ons => Extensions,
and look for anything unfamiliar or suspicious.

When you find something you don't trust : remove it.

Then do the same in Windows Control Panel.

Did all that and all is well there...even checked Task MGR, services.msc. Attached a pic of the thing being blocked.

We are not a anti-malware site or program and do not have the expertise that you will find on the link supplied.

I have posted there myself and you will find help there.

Check:

If you have an history entry (try the search bar in the Library or history sidebar) then try "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

I only had 2 Extensions: Adblock Plus YouTube Best Downloader 2

I disabled the video downloader and it seems to be stopped. I will report back if the problem returns, but I think is the culprit. Funny thing is, I have been using this downloader for 6+ months. Mow I have to figure out how to remove this tumor.
