Not PW issue - not even able to reset it due to error Received message on first login attempt This is first time logging into this computer Works on other work computer not able to just update Firefox as I work for a corporation and do not have admin perms cache/cookies did not fix

hi akrieger, we are currently having some issues with firefox accounts - those should resolve themselves later on though, so please have a bit of patience at the moment and try to log-in again in a bit. thank you for your understanding!

Are the issues still happening because I am still getting the same error?

Try to clear the Cache and remove the Cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the Cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Can you access the account here?

As stated previously, I have cleared my cache/cookies and it doesnt help. I did it again as I am very familiar with trouble shooting steps but I still get the same error. I cannot access through the link either, same "attempts exceeded" error.

Try to delete the signedInUser.json file in the Firefox profile folder and delete the Weave folder (Sync was formerly named Weave). Remove an existing chrome://FirefoxAccounts entry in the Firefox Password Manager. If that isn't enough then delete the prefs.js files to reset all prefs and maybe also delete the compatibility.ini file to reinitialize the profile.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

I tried deleting the " compatibility.ini " file and restarting the browser but still had no affect. I am not sure what to do in the about:config area. Please let me know what I should be changing/modifying.
