I apologize if here's not the right place for this post.

What is difference between Extentions and Plugins and Add-ons? Apparantely, they differ in some sense or aspect, but I don't know how. Please, if it's not too much trouble, explain in detail and simple language. Thanks a million in advance.

You should take a look at this article for an explanation. Essentially, plugins and extensions are types of Add-ons along with personas and themes.
