Mac sequoia 15.7.2 Thunderbird 147.0

Older updates had same results.

Many of the "solutions" I have read are out of date, so they are irrelevant. So I'm here.

When I compose an email, when I select "bold" the fonts become bold. Same with other selections. however, when I select a color for fonts, when I type a character, the selection and character change to black again. Help?

I'm trying to add my email accounts to Thunderbird, I manage to get everything set up okay (using "outlook.office365.com" as the SMTP server rather than the auto-selected "mail-smtp@outlook.com" that is autofilled), but when I try to add it and the popup window for Oauth2 opens up, I enter my email and password for my hotmail and outlook accounts, I get an error saying:

You can't sign in here with a personal account. Use your work or school account instead.

What's going on? I never had trouble setting up Oauth2 with my personal accounts before, until I switched to a Windows 11 computer (was using Windows 10 before).

What am I doing wrong? Or is this some kind of messup with Microsoft. I set up my Gmail account (with Oauth2) without any trouble?

I can't find any solutions to this online. Please help. I'm desperate to get access to my email on my new computer.

hi i went to create a folder in one of my emails which i did, but didnt see i spellet it incorrectly so i tried to rename it but it didnt rename instead it created a new folder with the correct spelling, i tries to delete the wrong one and i couldnt delete it, i moved the emails into the folder with the correct name and it moved into both folders which now doubled the size of the emails i had in the folders or thunderbirds database so i tried to delete the emails in the wrong folder and it delete all the emails in both folders but the folder stills the folders still the emails that where there but i cant see them and i cant compact the folders to save space

Hello After Installing Thunderbird, and adjusted the settings to receive Outlook webmail, I have decided to stay with Outlook. Only problem is that I now receive two duplicate emails in Outlook. Please advise How I can correct this. Thank you

I CAN'T VIEW INCOMING EMAILS? New emails are not showing up in my InBox. How do I fix this? I can see incoming mail pop-up notices, but my Inbox does not show these messages?

I would like to report a problem I experience using Thunderbird on a Mac (see configuration below). In some circumstances (that I am not able to determine), when deleting one message in the inbox (unified Folders mode), the message list is not updated/refreshed i.e. the deleted message is still appearing but in fact the content is the next one. This is very annoying as we may remove messages wrongly: the messages we want to delete are not the one we see in the list.

I am using Thunderbird 140.7.0esr on a MacBook Air Sonoma 14.7.1

Are you aware of such a behavior? What can I do to overcome the problem?

Hi everyone, I am a rank beginner and not very 'computer literate.' I want to download all of my emails from Thunderbird (I have 4 email accounts) and also export them to an external drive, including: All emails (entire history, not just recent mail) All attachments Metadata (dates, sender/recipient, subject, folder info, etc.) Contacts / address book Ideally, a format that I can restore later if needed. My main questions are: What is the best step-by-step method to export everything to an external drive? Is there a way to do this so that the backup is complete and restorable later? Where does Thunderbird store emails on my computer, and can I copy that to my external drive? Is there a recommended way to export contacts too? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm on latest T-bird 140.7.0-ESR 64-bit. I have random failures when trying to move individual files or folders from LOCAL FOLDERS back to MAIN emails. Moves some, sometimes, then won't move, or will move some but not all, and often corrupts the files back into Main folder. I only use one email under T-Bird. This has happened for years, but I have been judicious about moving files and lived with it. But it's still a problem that I would have thought something like this would have been fixed long ago? .The formatting of LOCAL FOLDERS & FILES in LOCAL FOLDERS seems different & convoluted vs. a straightforward formatting in MAIN where I can easily move withing Microsoft file management. But trying to reconfigure and COPY or MOVE Files or Folders from LOCAL is very problematic.

We have not been blacklisted at Spamhaus.com. Yet, Thunderbird ONLY is blocking of email sent via its SMTP. IP being blocked according to Spamhaus is 162.xxx.xxx.xxx But Spamhaus shows that neither this IP nor my email, [edited] @wrigleyranch.com is being blocked or blacklisted. We are able to send email thru our email client at BlueHost. So, it is definite that we are NOT BLACKLISTED. The last update (automatic) by Thunderbird was January 14, 2026. I'm am suspecting that this update has caused this error. That's why I'm writing you. Can I revert to the prior Thunderbird update to test this theory? I cannot see how to do that. I need help!!! Receiving email is unaffected by this malfunction.

I was working with thunderbird today. Was in a specific email folder I had named "reference" that I use to store various emails, probably around 50 emails in there. Suddenly they all deleted from the folder as I was watching the screen. Checked spam/trash folders and nothing. Also logged into my webmail provider and nothing there either. Any idea what could have happened here? They just seem to have literally vanished. Have used Thunderbird a number of years and never experienced anything like this.

I have a set of e-mails that I am unable to delete or move - when i try they disappear for a few seconds and then re-appear. They all contain a red bold warning "Caution external e-mail"
