Usually if you choose Show All Bookmarks, Firefox opens a separate window called the Library. Is that what you meant?

As far as I remember, Firefox doesn't have a setting to keep your bookmarks alphabetical as you add them, but you can alphabetize them in the Library dialog. In the left column, right-click Bookmarks Menu, then Sort by Name.

And you can close the Bookmarks Toolbar. Right-click a blank area of the tab bar (or the new tab "+" button on that bar) and "uncheck" Bookmarks Toolbar.

To access your bookmarks without the toolbar, you can use any of the following:

  • Bookmarks menu on the classic menu bar (Alt+b) or on the compact menu behind the orange Firefox button
  • Bookmarks button (drop-down list) on a toolbar (if the classic menu bar is not displayed)
  • Bookmarks Sidebar (Ctrl+b)

Does that help?
