Trying to change "SOUND" for arriving email. Followed steps to the letter under "How to Customize the New Mail Sound"...https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-customize-new-mail-sound#thunderbird:mac:tb24

However, under 24.0.0 OPTIONS is not listed under TOOLS -there is an empty space ( where Options should be ) and then Account Settings...

I'd love to change the sound - please advise. Thanks, Thomaz

Look for Preferences instead of Tools on a MAC. Here is an article explaining the menu differences between operating systems. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences_in_Windows,_Linux,_and_Mac

This is great - and I thank you - I"m a bit confused however, Mozilla does such a great job - would it not be possible simply to put (Windows) with the explanations posted in the new version? I clicked on What's new - why would I assume that the directions given were not for my operating system? I'm sure it's only an oversight - but it would save quite a bit of collective time. Thanks so much, again, for your help. Thomaz

Oh it is worse than that. When they hid the Menu Bar and replaced it with the AppMenu button (square with 3 lines) some genius moved several of the menu choices around so they do not match the documentation no matter what operating system you have.

I guess it keeps us volunteers supplied with questions that way. :)
