Suddenly I can't download my email subfiles from sever provider AT&T

I store my emails in multiple sub folders. For unknown reason, suddenly I could not download these sub folders and their contents from email server @ AT&T. I checked my webmail account at AT&T and found all the sub folders and contents are still there all right but somehow they just won't download onto my Thunderbird webpage like before. What can I do?
