Followed about:config but cannot turn off Bing in a new tab

When I open a new tab, I prefer a blank page. Since updating Firefox now new tabs got to Bing. I tried to do the fix about:config but when I try to change the value to about:blank the change does not take. Is there any way I can turn this off?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
