firefox 28.0 crashes
Updated to FFx 28.0 for windows a few days ago. It crashes repeatedly for no apparent reason. I am forced to use Chrome. When are they going to issue another update that will fix this?

Hardware acceleration was already unchecked. Have never used it.
The only javascript.options.baselinejit listed had ".chrome" and ".content" after them. I set them to false, then discovered it rendered Yahoo mail inoperable, so I had to set them back to true.
Possibly as a troubleshooting step try running Firefox from a profile that does have JIT disabled see if it does prevent the crashes. If so maybe a bug can identified and a bug report filed about the problem assuming you can then reproduce crashes by re-enabling JIT .
Meanwhile when Yahoo mail is used run from a profile that has JIT enabled. Note it is possible to run two instances of Firefox a once with separate profiles so doing this should not unduly affect your browser use.
To run a 2nd instance of Firefox use the -no-remote argument

Ran in normal mode with JIT disabled. Crashed.

I think FFx is working again. I disabled some more extensions: Download Helper, Personas Plus, Start Page 2.2, and Zscaler Safe Shopping. I've used it all night and no crashes.
