Firefox should have been updating to Firefox 28.0 today so you are now on the correct version.
Unless you were on the Beta channel you previously should have been on Fx27.x
P.S. Release notes
- Current new Release http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/28.0/releasenotes/ Mar 18th
- Fx 27.0.1 Feb 13th
- Beta http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/28.0beta/releasenotes/ (That will be about to update to Fx29 but without any Win8 touch)

That's weird. I'm 100% sure it was version 28.1 for weeks. I am not a member of the beta project btw.
However, it runs fine, so I leave it to that. Thanks for your quick reply!
Ok glad it is working. I also added links to the Release notes so you can see what changes were involved.
