Ok, I'm a computer dumb-ass, thus this....if I plan on using Firefox to access/use the internet, do I still need Internet Explorer, can/should I uninstall it ?

On Windows it is usually better to leave the Internet Explorer installed in case you need it to access MS sites that only work with IE.

But you need remember that others software can be affected, because some programs on windows use internet explorer
