false security alert on facebook game

more options

I'm tryin to load a specific game (since i don't play others) on firefox, but it stops loading it due to some security warning which is ridiculous!!!

I can play the same game without issues in Chrome and Opera (i knows they use the same engine) and the best-ridiculous part is that......i can play the game in other 2 browsers that simulate......firefox!!!!!!!!! bahahahahahahaha

i would load a pic i have taken, but this forum is so "well" setup that i can't! I know from now that my problem will not be solved, but i want to verify myself that i will get ridiculous answers or no answer at all on my first post here.

The error i get is "sec_error_unknown-issuer" when tryin to load Airport city

I can't reproduce that error.

i can reproduce it - the site hasn't properly implemented the necessary intermediary certificate that links the issued certificate to the root certificate authority, which will cause the error you have referenced in certain situations.

you should report that issue to the vendor of the game.

Philipp, what's the link to it? I couldn't reproduce it although I'm using Aurora so that might be it.

more options

the link on facebook is https://apps.facebook.com/airport_city & the direct link of the hosted game is https://airport.6waves.com/partner/fb/

the issue is likely going to be reproducible in a new profile, since over time firefox will store properly implemented intermediary certificates which are then also used to verify the encryption on such sites which haven't implemented that particular certificate as they should do. that's why it will work for some people, but not for others...

Mmm okay! New profile made and is indeed reproducible on my end.

Hi cammer78, in case you're wondering what to do next: Firefox has the option to create exceptions for sites you trust.

Since you are not submitting sensitive information to the game — I assume it doesn't require any credit card or other payment account information — you could instruct Firefox to trust the security certificate even though it isn't linked back to a globally trusted authority.

Normally, the error page will display a section at the bottom where you can add the exception. However, when the page is framed within another page, that section is left out because the address of the page is invisible to you. Right-click the page, choose This Frame, then Open Frame in New Tab. Now your error page should allow you to add an exception if you like.

Once you're done, close the separate page and reload the original page (Ctrl+Shift+r will get it fresh from the servers, bypassing cached copies).

Success?

None of the answers has helped ofc, and i had already thought of them, and despite i don't think a screenshot of this problem is that usefull, u can have one, not that it will help more!

Don't bother tryin to help anymore, i have seen many stupidities in this browser over the years, but this was the last drop and is unacceptable !

I don't have the mood to wait for 2-3-5 months to be solved when 3rd party browsers that only use the firefox engine, work far better!!!

I'm disgusted and this was my 1st and final case in this forum, i hope i won't come here again.

i'll mark cor-el's reply as solution here, since it solves the problem with one click!

Hi cammer78, Firefox has always worked this way when checking certificates, and I don't expect it to change. Websites are supposed to send you all of the intermediate certificates. You can blame Firefox for not covering up their error if that makes you feel better.
