How to disable addons without starting Firefox
How can I disable addons without starting Firefox.
Chosen solution
Note that there is a pref (extensions.enabledAddons) that identifies enabled extensions, so in theory you can edit this pref in the prefs.js file and remove the extension(s) you want to have enabled.
If you start Firefox in Safe Mode then all extensions are disabled and you can open the Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions page (about:addons) to disable specific extension and close and restart Firefox.
You can use one of these to start Firefox in Safe Mode:
- On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
- On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
- Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

hello pollti, could you expand on the background of your question?
Hello philipp, The background of my question is question number 983772. https://support.mozilla.org/de/questions/983772 I think there's a posibility to deactivate addons and maybe the problem would be fixed then.
