Ransomware http://vrfhdrt.cyberwarriors-usa.com blocks Firefoxwebreader. If I close it with ctr-alt-del, it restarts at cyberwarriors - all controls are hidden.

Chosen solution

Rename (or delete) the sessionstore.js file to prevent Firefox from restoring the previous session.

Alternatively you can also add this line to the prefs.js file and disable that tab from getting restored.

user_pref("browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes", 0);

I got hit by them several times. I sent a report to the Real FBI via their Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)

You can also report such a site at; Google Report Phishing Page which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery

That site already seems to have been taken down.

Many such sites are pseudo ransomware. They collect money and appear to lock Firefox but do not damage the computer.

Often just holding the return key to make use of the auto repeat gets out of the site within a few seconds. Jeff one of the contributors also crafted a useful bookmarklet to deal with some of these problems.
