I'm trying to recover browsing history from a specific day a couple of months ago in order to find out a tracking number for a Royal Mail parcel. For quite a while I have had Firefox set to clear history on quitting Firefox. I'm browsing on a Mac and have Time Machine and wondering if there is some way I can restore the internet history from a specific few days this year (27th - 29th October). I had a quick look at Time Machine and tried restoring the Profiles folder (Library / Application Support / Firefox / Profiles) and did manage to see an old browsing history (although not the right day) for a while then lost it and not sure what I did to restore / remove it. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. Many thanks.

You can try to restore a previous copy of the places.sqlite file to restore lost history.

Make sure to delete all other possibly present places files in the profile folder.
