Why Does Firefox Provide So Much Information That We Can Be Identified Uniquely? See the EFF Article https://panopticlick.eff.org/
How is it possible to reduce/remove most of this identifying information? Should Mozilla allow 'fake' profiles to be set up and allow huge numbers of visitors to identify identically to each other (should users wish that)?
I think the current situation is a massive privacy and security issue.

hello bertranhalfwaite, please see https://panopticlick.eff.org/self-defense.php
Hi Philip,
Well indeed some good suggestions there, particularly turning of js etc but you can also see one of the final suggestions is making significant improvements to private browsing modes so that less version numbers and other identifiable data leaks. I think any fix to this probably needs development on the core of FF not just some tweaks (although I'd agree you can get 'better' if you follow all those suggestions).
Cheers, B
