error msgs numerous daily with script error, firefox not responding, have reinstalled multiple times, still same errors
Numerous times during the course of a day Firefox will stop responding, closing the program is hindered by windows attempts to fix the problem, but never does. Eventually firefox will start responding or I will close it down and restart. This has been an ongoing problem, I have removed and reinstalled it numerous times, up dated all my flash players as script errors are usually seen at some news blog sites.

Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
- Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
- After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
- Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
- Windows:
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
- Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
- Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
- Windows:
- Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
- Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
- Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
Thank you.
I gather you missed the part where I said a clean install of Firefox DID NOT resolve the problem, as a matter of fact it was a clean install of windows and firefox and the problem still exists. Not to appear condescending maybe someone with a better understanding of the English language might help.
Script hangs on site that use Flash can be caused by the protected mode of the Flash Player plugin. Try disabling it following this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?
If Windows objects to saving changes due to permissions, try this way:
(1) In a My Computer or Windows Explorer window, open this folder:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
If that folder does not exist, then you are using 32-bit Windows, and you can open the following folder instead:
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
(Note: This folder exists on both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows, but on 64-bit Windows Firefox uses the Flash player in the SysWOW64 folder instead.)
(2) Check for a file named mms.cfg:
(A) If mms.cfg exists, drag it to your Documents folder where you can edit it without being bothered about administrator privileges
(B) If mms.cfg does not exist, open your Documents folder, right-click > New > Text File and name the new file mms.cfg
(3) Open mms.cfg from Documents into a text editor such as Notepad. Add this on its own line (I put it last):
ProtectedMode=0
Save the file and close Notepad.
(4) Hold down the Ctrl key and drag the mms.cfg file back to the Flash folder to make a copy there, keeping the original in Documents
This change should take effect the next time you restart Firefox (allow a few minutes for all the Flash processes in memory to terminate after exiting Firefox).
